Sometimes I can't hear.....Sin is ringing in my ear.....Sin is ringing in my ear
Sometimes I can't breathe when I am hanging from this tree.....When I am hanging from this tree
I am hanging from this tree to kill the wicked part of me
The life I live will not be mine
It's so hard for me to die.....So hard to kill this pride
The life I live will not be mine.....But Christ who lives inside of me
Sometimes I can't see past the broken part of me.....Past the broken part of me
Sometimes I can't find a heart that loves You all the time.....A heart that loves You all the time
I am hanging from this tree to kill the wicked part of me
The life I live will not be mine.....It's so hard for me to die.....So hard to kill this pride
The life I live will not be mine.....But Christ who lives inside of me
I Choose.....I Choose
Here's a song and artist you may not have heard before. This band is essentially a husband & wife duo that have some "hauntingly beautiful" songs that ring pure with the spirit of Truth. This song in particular is a powerful testament to the path that each one following Christ must follow. Our path ends in our death, so that Christ can live in us.
Galations 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but
Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by the
faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I find that very few Christians understand WHO Christ is. While there is no doubt that Jesus was the Christ here on earth, Christ is more than one man- he is every man, woman and child. Christ is all in all. Christ is our true life and our higher will, if we are willing to accept this. That is the hard part...letting go (getting rid) of that false identity.
A spiritualist friend of mine once said, "The only good Christian is a dead Christian." How right he was! The problem with Christians (and most everyone) is that their ego and pride are still in control of their lives and actions. The ONLY way to do God's will is to let Christ be our LORD. Sure, everyone wants to accept Christ as "savior", but how can this be if we don't surrender to God as Lord? We must lay down our life, which is really our will, our pride and that devil ego that believes it is our god. This message is so simple, but as the song says, "It's so hard to kill this pride." Yet, this is what we must all do. We must be crucified, not in the flesh, but in our carnal minds. The wicked part of us must be put to death.
Colossians 3:5
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:
sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed,
which is idolatry.
In many ways, I believe the Christian message of salvation has been watered down to a point that it is quite deceptive. Many preachers are promising salvation to their followers because they have followed the "rules." Some will say if you have accepted Jesus then you are saved, but they fail to explain that Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow him. Where are we following him to? To our death. Yes, what Jesus taught is very different than what many are hearing each Sunday morning.
Matthew 10:37
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not
worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me
is not worthy of me; 38 and anyone who does not take his cross and
follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life
will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find
it.
Do you understand what Jesus is saying here? He is saying LOSE your (false) life in the flesh and join him in your (true) life in the spirit! As long as we believe and live as we are flesh, we shall suffer and die as such. The only way to receive our true life is to believe that Christ is our true, higher self that is the image of God. So salvation is ultimately a choice that each of us will make. So what say you?
I choose....I choose
