"Kryptonite"
by 3 Doors Down
(click
above link to listen)
I took a walk
around the world to ease my troubled mind
I left my body laying somewhere in the sands of time
I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon
I feel there is nothing I can do, yeah
I watched the
world float to the dark side of the moon
After all I knew it had to be something to do with you
I really dont mind what happens now and then
As long as youll be my friend at the end
If I go crazy
then will you still call me Superman
If Im alive and well, will you be there holding my hand
Ill keep you by my side with my superhuman might
Kryptonite
You called me
strong, you called me weak,
But still your secrets I will keep
You took for granted all the times I never let you down
You stumbled in and bumped your head, if
Not for me then you would be dead
I picked you up and put you back on solid ground
If I go crazy
then will you still call me Superman
If Im alive and well, will you be there holding my hand
Ill keep you by my side with my superhuman might
Kryptonite
If I go crazy
then will you still call me Superman
If Im alive and well, will you be there holding my hand
Ill keep you by my side with my superhuman might
Kryptonite
Yeah!
If I go crazy
then will you still call me Superman
If Im alive and well, will you be there holding my hand
Ill keep you by my side with my superhuman might
Kryptonite
Hello my fellow lovers of music!
This latest Song of the Week is a little rock song from several summers back. I love this song! Everytime I hear it, I think of summer and I think of Christ, who is our SUPERMAN!
While this song would be labeled by most as secular, I don't. From the first time I heard it, I felt like it was speaking in a very spiritual way...at least to me. I do not actually know the intentions of the writer of this upbeat tune from 3 Doors Down, but I do know what it is saying to me. In fact, I have found a considerable amount of their music has a spiritual element to it.
I believe this song is written as if Christ Jesus is writing and singing it. Jesus walked around this world and he surely had a "troubled mind." Also, Jesus DID leave his body somewhere in the sands of time! Moreover, the spiritual body of Christ is here in this world waiting to be resurrected. Next we read that Superman (the Son of God) had to watch the world float to the dark side of the moon, which is away from the light of the Sun- the source of all life.
Jesus came to realize that his life has something to do with all of us- he was Christ our Savior! He wants us to be his friend in the end. Would his followers then and now follow him even if some believed him to be crazy? With Christ at our side and in our hearts, there is superhuman power available to us.
The next lyrics really solidified what this song is all about. It says, "You call me strong, you call me weak. But still your secrets I will keep." Some believe God is strong while others believe He is weak or nonexistent. Either way, God knows all about us and our every secret. And how true does this ring to you..."You took for granted all the times I never let you down." Yes, we take God for granted everyday. The song goes on to say this...."You stumbled in and bumped your head, if not for me then you would be dead. I picked you up and put you back on solid ground." That says it all! Humanity has stumbled into this world and "bumped our heads" which is to say we have lost God consciousness. However, without God in our lives and being, we would be dead. In other words, the very One we take for granted is keeping us alive at every moment! More than this, God picks us up after every fall and puts us back on our feet again. Glory be to God! And Glory be to the Son of God who is our Superhuman strength within us!
So perhaps the next time you hear this song, you will hear Christ speaking to you.
